Mohawk Trail

I find the symbolism embodied by trails to be deeply alluring. One such trail is the Mohawk Trail in Massachusetts, a long walk along which inspired this painting.
Mohawk Trail is one of my personal favorites, because it challenged me to confront my default “exacting” or “deliberate” nature; I somehow managed to let parts of this remain loose, gestural and abstract, while functioning meaningfully in the context of an image.
